Over the weekend the 1/12 Scale team were back in action with the newly released Eclipse 5. This time they would visit the ever fantastic Tamworth Club who played host to the BRCA Nationals rounds 3 on Saturday and 4 on Sunday. The BRCA and Tamworth team put on a great event as ever!

R3 Saturday
The younger Schumacher drivers came out firing with a fabulous first TQ for Sam Coult in the 13.5t class. He would lead a Schumacher 1-2 on the grid for the A final, along with an impressive 7 Eclipse 5’s qualifying into the A final! A special mention goes to 14 year old Finley Whitelock for making the A final on his 3rd time of trying!

In the 6.5t modified Category it would be an awesome 1-4 lock out for Schumacher with Ollie Payne once again taking pole position, closely followed by young Daniel Robins then James Hart and Nathanael Goodban.

The 13.5t A final saw another 1-2 finish for Schumacher, with a faultless drive for Sam to claim his first ever LMP12 National Podium, but also his first ever win! Well done Andy Smith for joining him on the podium with 2nd place. Mark Stiles completed the podium in 3rd.
Saturday saw the 3rd Schumacher driver to win his first ever national within the last 4 events! Sam joins Andy Smith and Adam Mackman, all with great wins recently too!
This time, a massive congratulations to Sam and Finley for these huge milestones.

In modified Ollie Payne would convert pole position to another win and he would be followed by Daniel Robins and James Hart all holding position and completing the podium. It was nice to see 1/12 Stock European Champion making a racing return after several years this weekend, and coming home in p4, followed by Nathanael Goodban.

R4 Sunday
The very next day presented a fresh start for all drivers to compete in the following round of the championship.

This time in 13.5t qualifying, a special mention goes to Michael Bolt, a none Schumacher driver for taking his first pole position and win after an incredibly impressive drive in both. Well done Michael!
I was another fantastic qualifying for Schumacher however, with our amazing team and customers showing great performances all the way through the field, with Adam Mackman with the best pace and P2 on the grid, narrowly behind Michael after the 8 minute run. Once again 7 Eclipse 5’s would make it into the top 13.5t Final. New team driver Ben Vincent showed a fantastic return to form qualifying 4th only a couple of seconds off pole position. Congrats Ben along with Morgan Williams and Finley Whitelock for making the A main again and showing great pace this weekend.
Sunday would see our other new team drivers taking a step forwards with Stu Cartwright in P11 and Charlie Colby P13 after fantastic qualifying performances.

In the modified class qualifying, Ollie again took P1, followed by a very strong Nathanel Goodban, a returning Louis Parker, Daniel Robins and Chris Kerswell.

Sundays 13.5t A final saw an impressive lights to flag victory for Michael Bolt followed by Andy Murray, Andy Smith and Sam Coult in P2-4. Unfortunately Adam Mackman dropped down the order but had a fantastic pace all day.

The Modified final was a thriller, with Ollies setup test not looking like working, and Dan Robins finding his pace and looking fantastic in pursuit for much of the race until a small error when trying to overtake near the end. Elsewhere Chris Kerswell, Nathanael and Louis went 3 wide for several minutes until louis slipped by and had such a good pace that almost caught the battle for the lead, showing how close all 5 drivers were throughout the race, and how competitive modified can be!

This 4th win from 4 rounds brings Ollie Payne the Modified National title with a perfect score. Congratulations Ollie!

The deciding weekend for the 13.5t stock national title will commence in Chesterfield in a few weeks. 6 Drivers are in contention and we can’t wait.

Thank you to our amazing team for all your hard work and performances this weekend!
