BRCA 2023 4WD Touring National Round 5

Elliott returns and dominates, while Ollie Payne wins and takes the 13.5 Championship.
The 2023 BRCA 1/10th 4WD Touring Car Nationals are in the books.
Is this the premier Nationals series for Touring Car racers in the world?
The 5 round series see's the best of the UK Touring car drivers come head to head at 5 venues across the UK to battle out to be crowned the British Modified, 13.5 Stock and 17.5 Stock Champion.
Round 5 saw us head to the south east of England to Colchester, a small and characterful circuit that really test's all levels of car and driver performance.

The Schumacher team has grown in popularity over the last 12 months, thanks to the performance of the Mi8 and the on track team support offered to the drivers.
Colchester is not really a track that the teams go to to test so nobody really had any advantage apart from a few regular club drivers. In the end it turned out to be a very strong showing for the Schumacher team.

In 17.5T an amazing total of 9 of the 10 A finalists ran an Mi8. Tony Broad took the win from TQ after a fantastic tussle with Schumacher's Mason Weston and young Jack Collins.

In the 13.5 class 4 drivers were still able to take the Championship going into this last round, Schumacher's Ollie Payne, James Hart, Billy Fletcher and perennial winner Zak Finlay.
Ollie took the TQ in a drama filled qualifying, with Zak lining up second and Ricky Copsey 3rd. It was extremely tight in this class with 17 cars within a lap of TQ. There was drama in every leg of the final with even rain getting in the mix too. Ollie drove a superb first two legs, winning both with Ben Moorey coming from 6th on the grid to take second and Ricky 3rd. 5 x Mi8's made the A final.
