The first round of the BRCA Nationals took place this weekend and it was a successful one for the team with the new Mi6evo. Once again in modified it was a battle between the usual suspects, Schumacher's Elliott Harper, Olly Jefferies and Chris Grainger. This time it was Olly's Hobbywing powered Xray that took a close fought TQ from Elliott, both tying on points from the new 2 from 4 qualifying system, but with Olly with the fastest time. So it was Olly from Elliott and Chris on the grid. That’s how it remained for both legs of the finals with passing notoriously difficult on the tight West London circuit.
In the boosted 13.5 class Schumacher veteran Darren Lee was battling hard with current Champion Zak Finlay for the TQ spot with Zac just heading out his rival to take it, with Darren second and another Mi6evo of James Hart lining up 3rd.
The finals were a close fought affair between the top two, a small mistake from Zak in leg 1 allowed Darren to take the leg win. Then Zak took the leg win in the 2nd with Darren close behind in second tying their scores. With a change in the rules at the AGM the fastest time now takes the win in a tie situation so Darren took it from the first leg, a top result. James Hart finished 3rd, all drivers using Fantom motors.
In the 13.5 blinky class Daniel Booker took a dominant victory using Fantom power.
All in all a successful weekend for the team with the new Mi6evo. Congratulations to Darren Lee for the national win! Hobbywing power won the modified class and Fantom power was the dominant brand in the stock classes.
The next national see's the team head to the coastal Adur circuit.
Mi6evo set ups available shortly.
