This last weekend saw the first big race at the new Moto Arena venue inside the legendary Silverstone race circuit. The Schumacher team were in attendance not only to run the race but also to try and put in some good performances on the track.
With snow on the ground outside it was nice to get some tarmac running undercover and in the great surroundings that the venue offers.
The strongest performances for the team were in the stock class with Andrew Carter showing the competition a fresh set of heals taking TQ and the win, with Scott ‘Moto’ Hauser in second and Andrew Keen a happy third.
A total of six Mi4LP’s made the main in Pro Stock but the guys couldn’t match the pace of Associated’s Chris Slater, who won despite massive pressure from Stafford veteran Andy Robson.
With 5 of the Schumacher runners finishing in the top six it was still a commanding performance. Unfortunately for them they couldn’t stop Chris this time!!
Olly Jefferies has been on good form recently and TQ’ed and won the modified class. Colin Price was hot on his heals in the finals from third on the grid, after dispatching his team leader Chris Grainger at the start Colin put in some great charges and was particularly unlucky in the first leg after passing Olly two corners from the finish only to end up turtled on the tarmac a corner later!
The mod boys were all running the new big bore shocks released last week and were extremely happy with the performance! Jonny Aird had a quiet weekend but hooked it up in the end to claim third overall behind Olly and Colin.
So all in all, a great race at a great venue. Thanks to all the drivers and the Moto Arena crew who came to support it and perhaps we’ll be back soon for another round of the BTCC!!
