Kevin White, Schumacher Team Driver, wins the first round of the RCCAOI (www.rccaoi.com) Irish National 1/10th 2WD off road championship (Clubman)
On Saturday 26th April the first round of the Irish National 1/10th off road championship was held at the NNN(www.nnn.ie) astro outdoor track in Navan Co. Meath. The track is mainly used by 1/8th Nitro and due to typical Irish weather the track was 'interesting' when wet i.e. like ice!! This years championship had two racing categories, Modified & Clubman. Clubman can only use ESC's in blinky mode and can run a max of a 10.5T motor.
Kevin dominated the 3 rounds of heats with his SV2 managing to put in 3 clean runs giving him pole position for the finals. During the 3 finals, due to the ever changing weather, tyre choice was key, although all other competitors had decided on running BB mini spikes, Kevin ran mini spike Schumacher greens and whites which allowed him to win all 3 finals.
Other Schumacher driver results: Derek McCluskey came 2nd in both the 2WD & 4WD mod., Dylan McBurney came 5th in 2WD mod. & 6th in 4WD mod., and Denzill McBurney came 6th in 2WD mod.
Rounds 2 & 3 are bring hosted by the DMCC(www.dublinmodelracing.com) and round 4 by the BADMCC(www.badmcc.com)
