Following on from 4wd Rd 2 at Batley, where Schumacher occupied the top 4 A final positions:

4: Jeff Steele – Schumacher K1 Aero
The North East regional moved on to NEAM club in sunny South Shields, for some classic grass track racing.
The track drove very well on both days, with the traction levels decreasing as the grass wore down.
Schumacher yellow minispikes were the tyre of choice in 4wd, and on the rear of the 2wd cars, though a mixture of Schumacher low profile staggers, cut staggers, and mini spikes were seen on the front of the 2wd cars.

A messy first lap of the A final resulted in Andy Pearson taking an early lead that he maintained for around 3 minutes. The Schumacher cars of Chris Pattinson, Chris Moody, Jeff Steele and Steven Pearce closed the gap on Andy over the 3 minutes, at which point a very close race between the four Schumacher cars ensued, with Chris Pattinson taking the lead with two laps to go having been relegated from pole position to 9th position on the opening lap. A bit of a nail biter to watch, the video can be seen here courtesy of Davey Liddle:
1st: Chris Pattinson – Schumacher K1 Aero
2nd : Chris Moody – Schumacher K1 Aero
3rd : Andy Pearson
4th : Paul Farrand
5th : Steven Pearce - Schumacher K1 Aero

A well worn and low grip track, saw the Schumacher Cougar KF2s take all four rounds of qualifying, with Chris Moody taking three of the rounds, and Neil Adamson taking the remaining round.
Chris Moody lead from pole position with a very convincing lead to take the win. Some very patient and clean racing between the Jeff Steele, Andy Pearson, Chris Pattinson and Mike Parker, but no one had the pace to get anywhere near Chris Moody’s car.
