Sunday 25th of October saw the first round of this years WBMCC Schumacher indoor on-road championship series. It was an opportunity to see how the Schumacher Mi4 would perform indoors in a competitive series. Dave Thorns running his new Mi4 in the 13.5 class had a good first round but was unable to clinch TQ, but with some great drivers in this class he knew it would not be a foregone conclusion who would take the honours. With some minor adjustments to the car Dave went out for his second qualifier and took TQ and in round 3 he improved his fastest time yet again to take pole position in the two finals. The first final saw Dave, battle neck and neck with Schumacher driver Simon Smith who had also just got an Mi4 after racing off road all summer. In the second final Dave made a great start and wasn’t troubled all race to take the overall Win. In the 10.5 it was James Hart who dominated this class, setting TQ in every round by a lap when asked as to his thoughts on how the car was, he replied “the times speak for themselves; the car is awesome and so easy to drive”. The final was a little closer than qualifying but with some great driving James brought his Mi4 home in 1st place in both finals and ended a day of Schumacher dominance. The next round is on November 15th. Check the West Bridgford website for further details and booking in.
